For the past 48 hours I have had the joy of wearing this little monitor. I could not shower (sponge baths are not fun and washing the hair from the side of the bathtube is awful), it was a pain to wear with jeans, and this only names of few of the troubles that I have gone to over the past 48 hours.
So you might be asking why I was wearing one of these little devices. On Monday morning I was interning with the renal dietitian. We were standing by the nurse's station reading over charts. Kerrianne (the dietitian) was pouring knowledge into me so I was trying soak up every word she was saying. Not really sure when I started feeling bad but I started getting dizzy and really hot. I finally told Kerrianne that I thought that I needed to sit down. Well I took about two steps toward a chair that I thought that I saw. Needless to say, I did not make it to the chair. I ended up on the floor and when I came back to I had about ten nurse's taking my blood pressure, blood sugar, and temperature, and I can't count the number of times they asked if I was pregnant (I mean really??). After spending four hours in the ER, having blood drawn, EKG, and failing a pregnancy test they let me go. But they made me wear this heart monitor because they wanted to make sure that my heart was ok. I kinda thought that the whole thing was a little over kill. My heart is fine I am sure.
