A Dan-Bray Wedding
It all started three years ago with a simple phone call. Daniel told me that he was interested in dating a girl that I had recently developed a good friendship with named, Cabray. At first I was skeptical because Daniel had a history in the recent months of getting crushes on girls and he would tell me about them. So when he called to tell me about what I considered to just be his latest crush I told him that he better really do some thinking about this one and that at this time I would not "help" him in asking her out. I said think about it for a week and if you are still interested we can talk about it. Well, like clock work, the boy called me back; I was a little surprised honestly. So from there we put a plan into action!
After many (many) months of trying to convince Cabray that she should really give Daniel a chance at more than just a friendship she agreed to a date. I have to give Daniel bonus points because he truly pursued this girl. He can write a book about how to pursue a relationship; his patience is unmatched to anyone I know. I seriously may have to ask the guy that trys to date me to call Daniel to get a few pointers. Daniel has set the bar high. Ok, as things would turn out she would come down with an illness the day of what was to be their first date. I took Cabray to Wal-Mart to buy some medications. Daniel is calling me freaking out that his "perfect" evening will not happen. I am trying to avoid letting Cabray know that I am on the phone with Daniel so I keep running off and coming back. Finally, Danial settles on some pick up food and brings it to Boyd Hall. I am sure that they watched Friends or something like that and ate their take out food.
That was just the beginning of what would turn into a great relationship. As they progressed I stepped more into an onlookers role rather than the one that knew way too much information from both sides. Trust me when they were both telling me their sides of the story it got complicated and I felt like I knew way too much info. They dated until their senior year at Auburn. It was one of those relationships that are fun to see develop. I honestly can't think of two more perfectly matched people. It's like a puzzles --- they fit together so well.
I had the joy of being a bridesmaid in the wedding. We enjoyed a weekend in a Carpet Capital of the World. (aka Dalton, GA). The wedding was worship service of seeing people come together through the vows of marriage. Then we partied until the late night hours. You name the dance song... it was played. I have said it before but Auburn weddings are by far the best weddings to attend. It was great to see friends from all over the country. Weddings bring us together and it was always hard to part. Daniel and Cabray left like I have dreamed to leave my reception.... Everyone shaking an Auburn shaker and singing the fight song!
